Useful resources for students taking short courses on the Advanced Breast Practice and Professional Practice in Mammography programmes

SGUL username and password

Your SGUL login (username and password) are required to:
- Login to computers on the SGUL network (eg. in the Computer Rooms)
- Register your SGUL ID card on the multi-functional devices (printers).
- Login to your university email

- Login to Canvas
- Login to the SGUL Portal
- Access WiFi at SGUL
- Access e-resources offsite (See our short YouTube tutorial)

To access Library resources, make sure you use the first part of your username only.  This will be in the format: m2021123

If you are having problems with your password click here to change or reset it.
If you continue to experience problems, visit the Library Helpdesk or IT Clinic.

Accessing e-resources offsite

To access e-resources such as journals, books or databases offsite you will usually need to login. Watch our YouTube tutorial above for a short demonstration.

Remember:

1. Look for an option that says Institutional Login, Login via your institution or Shibboleth.
2. Select UK Access Management Federation if asked.
3. Then search for, or select from the list, St George’s, University of London.

4. Then enter your SGUL login details.

WiFi

The WiFi network at St George's, University of London is called eduroam.

Your username for accessing the WiFi is your full SGUL email address (for example: m1234567@sgul.ac.uk) with your usual password.

Accessing email on your mobile

You can receive your University email direct to your phone (with most smart phones).

Accessing your VLE

Learning material and information that supports your modules will be posted in Canvas, your VLE. It is important that you login on a regular basis.

To access Canvas, go to: http://canvas.sgul.ac.uk/ or use the link in the Relevant Links section of the Library Homepage.

The Library has it's own module on Canvas to help you develop and improve your information literacy skills. 


Can't see the SGUL Library module on your Canvas Dashboard? Follow the steps below to enrol.

  1. From the Canvas Dashboard, select the Information icon in global navigation
  2. Select Student Hub
  3. Select the Library tile
  4. Click +Join this Module
  5. Select Enrol in Module
