Harvard Referencing

Short guide to Harvard referencing based on Cite them Right

A quick word on referencing generators

Another barrier to successful referencing is the use of online, automatic reference generators, such as Cite This for Me.  We don't recommend that you use them, although we realise they can be tempting.  It is worth bearing in mind that the references they produce are only as good as the data you feed in - so if anything is missing, you'll get incomplete, inaccurate results.  Even with 'official' referencing management software like RefWorks, we always caution that you should check your work before you submit it.  While it can feel like these generators save you time, unpicking the errors and formatting these references usually requires more effort than it would have taken to write the references using the support in Cite them Right. You can also follow the examples provided in this guide.
