Ovid Search Guide

Ovid is a specialist search tool available to St George’s. It allows you to perform sophisticated literature searches in databases such as Medline, Embase, PsycInfo, Maternity and Infant Care and Global Health. Where available, your Subject Guide will tell you which databases are most relevant to your topic.

It is best to plan your search and identify suitable search terms before using the database.  For guidance on how to plan a search, please see the LibGuide Principles of Effective Literature Searching.

Although this guide is predominately aimed at SGUL staff and students, NHS staff also have access to Medline, Amed, Embase and other databases through the Ovid platform - login  with your  NHS OpenAthens account for access.
