ProQuest is a specialist search tool available to St George’s staff and students. For St George's staff and students, The ProQuest tool allows you to perform sophisticated literature searches in the social science database Assia, and the British Nursing Index BNI), as well as some smaller open access and coronavirus research resources. Where available, your Subject Guide will tell you which databases are most relevant to your topic.
It is best to plan your search and identify suitable search terms before using ProQuest databases. For guidance on how to plan a search, please see the LibGuide on Literature Searching.
Although this guide is predominately aimed at St George's staff and students, NHS staff also have access to a range of databases, including the BNI, via the ProQuest tool, using an OpenAthens password.
This 8 minute video takes you through logging into and carrying out a search on ProQuest, using the database Assia (Applied Social Sciences Index & Abstracts). Explore the rest of this guide for specific tips and help.
