LWW Health Library overview

LWW Health Library Medical Education collection is a resource that includes access to key texts, videos, cases and questions across a range of books related to Medical Education (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology/Immunology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Physical Examination, Physiology and more).

Find LWW Health Library Medical Education Collection - St George's students and staff under L from our Databases A-Z list.

There is a search function enabling you to search across the entire collection. 

Use the advanced search to search by author, or to select a broad subject area.

Once you have logged in via Shibboleth, creating a free personal account will allow you to bookmark your favourite books, chapters, figures and tables

To create an account, click on ‘Create a free personal account’.

Complete the registration form, using your @sgul.ac.uk email address and then click on 'Save'.

To save Texts to your 'Favourites' folder, make sure you are signed in to your personal account and click on 'Texts'.

Select your topic under the heading, 'Filter by Type' and click on the image of the text you want to save.

Add the entire book or an individual chapter to your 'Favourites' by clicking on the star icon.

Click on 'View/Edit All Favourites' to view or delete your saved items.

Or click on your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select 'My Favourites'.

To view video and audio clips, click on 'Video & Audio'.

To take a quiz, click on 'Self Assessment'.

To view a case study, click on 'Cases'.

Use the search bar to search for healthcare concepts and keywords across the entire book collection.

To study a Study Journal Club, click on 'Journal Club'

To search other resources such as 'Clinical Skills', 'Guidelines' or 'Supplemental Content', click on 'Resources' and select an option from the drop-down list.

ClinicalKey overview

ClinicalKey Student is a collection of textbooks, images and videos covering clinical specialties, including Medical Physiology and Physical Therapy (Physiotherapy). The link to sign in for this resource can be found under C in our Databases A-Z page, and also below:

You will need to create an account the first time you sign in, which is subject to the Elsevier Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Click on ‘Register Here’.

Complete the registration form, using your @sgul.ac.uk email address and then click on 'Register'.

Personalise your account by selecting that you are a student and identifying your level of education.

Once you have created an account, you can use ClinicalKey Student to save items such as books, images and videos.

Once you have logged in via your institution, use the search bar to search for healthcare concepts and keywords across the entire book collection.

To save a book to your ‘Saved books’ folder, click on ‘Books’.

You can either search by 'Specialities', for example 'Physical Therapy', or 'Filter list by title'.

Click the 'My saved' tab and select ‘Books’ from the drop-down menu to go to your Saved books folder.

To save an image to your ‘Collections’ folder, click on ‘Images’.

To search for a summary of a disease or medical condition, click on ‘Summaries’.

Search for a summary by typing the disease/condition into the ‘Filter list by title’ search box, or search by alphabetical order.

Once you have logged in to ClinicalKey Student - St George's students and staff and created an account, you can download the ClinicalKey Bookshelf app. This has options such as downloading books, saving book chapters, searching figures and annotations, highlighting text and a range of other tools.

The mobile app synchronises with the ClinicalKey Student website allowing you to download titles you have already identified and 'launched' using the website. Use your device to scan the code below to download the bookshelf app.

Launch the bookshelf on the ClinicalKey Student website.

To 'launch' a book on your mobile app, search for the title on the ClinicalKey Student website.  You may need to login again.  

Find the book you want.

Click on the bookshelf icon to add it to your bookshelf.

Click on the 'Launch Bookshelf' icon in the top right-hand side of the screen.

Click on 'My Library' to see the books on your list.
