What is it?

Senate House Library is the central library for the University of London, of which St. George's is a member. Senate House Library has an extensive collection of physical and online resources from the arts, humanities and social sciences, including books, journals and academic databases.

Senate House Library has many study spaces and reading rooms, as well as bookable group spaces.

Membership is free for St George's students and staff. Join here.

Where can I access it?

Senate House Library is located in Bloomsbury in central London. For full address details and public transport links see the Library's visitor information page.

Why use it?

Senate House Library has the most complete collection of resources on the arts, humanities and social sciences available to St George's students. Almost all of these are available remotely, meaning you don't have to leave St George's to access them. It is an essential point of reference for any St George's student needing arts, humanities or social sciences resources.

Membership is also free and allows undergraduates to borrow up to 10 books and postgraduates up to 15

How do I use it?

Senate House Library has a catalogue similar to Hunter, the library search tool at St George's.

Academic databases are also provided by Senate House Library.
